- For students participating in either before or after school programs, please keep in mind that there are no safety patrols on duty and you are responsible for your child's safe transportation to and from school and as always please be on time in dropping off or picking up your child.
- To alleviate traffic congestion, our MORNING DROP AND GO program has begun!
Phase I - Richmond St. side: Begins on Thursday, May 16, 2013
Phase II - Sacramento Ave. side will begin in August
(both Richmond St. and Sacramento Ave will be in effect when school starts on August 26th.)
Time: 8:00 am - 8:15 am
1. No parking in School Zone. Violaters will be ticketed.
2. There will be one lane for student drop off and one lane for buses and moving traffic.
3. Parent volunteers will assist the children in exiting the cars.
4. Children MUST EXIT on the curbside.
5. Parent volunteers will escort children inside building.
6. Parent volunteers will be wearing orange vests or yellow ponchos.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF PRE-K STUDENTS who are interested in registering their children in PRE-K. ----- THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MAY 24TH!
Representatives from the Early Childhood Office will be at BATEMAN School on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 to register students from 9:00 - 2:30.
There is a new application process for parents to enroll students in the Chicago: Ready to Learn Pre-K Programs for the 2013-2014 school year. You must apply in person and bring with you your child's birth certificate, proof of residency and income verification. Applications accepted at certain locations only. Deadline to apply has been EXTENDEDF to MAY 24TH.
Applications will be accepted at BATEMAN SCHOOL only on Wednesday, MAY 22nd.
For other days, the nearest location accepting applications is McPherson Elementary at 4728 N. Walcott from 8:00am - 3:00 pm. If you have further questions, please go to www.cps.edu/readytolearn or call the Ready to Learn Hotline at 312-229-1690.

Junior Achievement Volunteers
We would like to thank the Junior Achievement of Chicago and the Volunteers from the Private Bank for visiting Bateman School on Thursday, April 18th. As part of their day of service, they spent the day in classrooms working with the students in various projects and teaching them about the business world.
We thank everyone for a very interesting and enjoyable day!
Kindergarten Registration for the 2013-2014 school year
Kindergarten registration: To register students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2013 and live in Bateman's attendance area. Please bring a certified copy of the birth certificate, 2 proofs of residency (utility bills showing parents name and address), parent ID and child's medical history (copy of current physical and shot records). To register please come to the North Office with all your information between the hours of 9:00 - 2:00 p.m. Enter through door # 1.
